There is a reoccurring tree theme here, situated on Vancouver Island in Canada is this blast of nature set among the rainforest trees. You have to be 16 years of age or older to secure one of these impressive handcrafted tree house spheres – and at only $160 Canadian Dollars per night (approx. $175 Aussie Dollars) this one is making it to our bucket list.

Ok this is venturing into a whole new calibre of strange, however if you are a lover of dogs then the Dog Bark Park is actually a bed and breakfast inside the worlds BIGGEST Beagle. With a motto like “At Dog Bark Park Inn sleeping in the doghouse is a good thing!”, you can be guaranteed that you won’t be short of doggie humour. Coming in at $98 US Dollars a night (approx. $133.48 Aussie Dollars), the Inn is recommended on Trip Advisor so may be a contender?

A former military prison now open for overnight stays, the Karostas Cietums makes it possible to experience Latvian prison life. Hard beds and grungy decor aside, there is alot of history to uncover in this former prison – and from 10 pounds a night (approx. $19 Aussie Dollars), why not grab your mug shot and give it a go?
